Best Water Filters in Singapore on Shopee (2026): 5 Picks from a S$40 Jug to a Hot-and-Cold Purifier
A kiasu, research-based shortlist of 5 water filters and purifiers on Shopee Singapore — Brita Marella jug, Philips On-tap AWP3753, novita W62 Plus under-sink, Philips ADD6910 RO dispenser and CUCKOO King Top 2 — with the real cartridge cost per year, where Shopee is dearer or cheaper, SAFETY Mark catches for hot dispensers and why PUB says you don't need one at all. Prices last checked 28 Oct 2026.
Updated 28 October 2026
Your aunty forwards a roadshow video, your colleague swears by his "10-stage alkaline" machine, and Shopee has filters from S$20 to S$2,000. Before you spend a single dollar, Kiasu Ah Huat — our (fictional) everyday Singaporean who reads every line of small print so you don't kena con — wants you to hear what PUB actually says. Then he went through the brands' official pages, Singapore retailers, PUB, the Consumer Product Safety Office (CPSO) and the Shopee listings themselves to build a short list of five.
Ah Huat's Kiasu Tip: Honest disclosure first, lah. This page has affiliate links to Shopee. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It doesn't change which models we picked — and where another shop looks cheaper, we tell you, even if we earn nothing from it.
Paiseh, important: this roundup is research-based, not hands-on — we haven't used these filters ourselves, and nobody paid us or sent us units. It's built from the brands' published specs, Singapore retailer pages, PUB and CPSO sources and the Shopee listings. We don't give star ratings or "test results", because we didn't do any tests. Claims like "removes 99.99% of bacteria" are the brands' own claims (from their or their labs' testing), not something we checked. Prices and listing details were last checked 28 Oct 2026 (SGT) and change often — always check the current price before you check out.
First: you don't actually need a filter
Let's start with the part filter sellers skip. On its Water Quality page, PUB says Singapore's tap water is "well within" the Food Safety and Security (Non-Packaged Drinking Water) Regulations 2025 and the WHO Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality, and that it is "suitable for drinking directly from the tap without any further filtration". PUB runs close to 500,000 tests a year.
So a filter is not a safety device here. People buy one for:
- Taste and smell — the faint "swimming pool" note from the chlorine-based disinfectant PUB keeps in the water;
- Old pipes and fittings — PUB's drinking water FAQ lists "corroded service water pipes and fittings" and stagnant water after a holiday as common causes of discoloured water (that's a pipe problem; see our brown and cloudy tap water guide);
- Convenience — chilled or near-boiling water on tap, no more lugging bottled water home.
And one PUB line every buyer should remember: "Filters may become a breeding ground for bacteria if they are not cleaned or replaced regularly." So the cartridge isn't an optional extra — it is part of the price. That's why every pick below comes with a cost per year.

How we picked
The short version. We shortlisted one model per type, because the type matters more than the brand:
- a jug (no install, cheapest), a tap-mounted filter (no install, renter-friendly), an under-sink system (plumber needed), a countertop RO hot-water dispenser you fill by hand, and a hot-and-cold purifier with a service plan (the old "rental" slot);
- each one publishes its filtration stages and cartridge life, and the replacement cartridge or service plan has a published Singapore price, so we could work out a yearly cost;
- each was on Shopee when we checked on 28 Oct 2026 — mostly from the brand's own shop, with one exception we flag clearly (the Brita).
New to the types, NSF certifications or what a PUB Licensed Plumber has to do with your sink? Ah Huat covers it in his guide to choosing a water filter.

1. Brita Marella + MAXTRA PRO — best cheap jug
The simplest fix for chlorine taste: no tools, no landlord, no plumber. Per Brita Singapore, the Marella comes as a 2.4 L "Cool" (1.4 L of filtered water per fill) or 3.5 L XL (2.0 L), and the MAXTRA PRO cartridge uses a fine mesh, coconut-based carbon and ion exchange to reduce chlorine, limescale, some metals such as lead and copper, and some pesticides. Brita markets the mesh for particles from "older pipework". The Cool (25.8 × 25.8 × 10.5 cm) fits most fridge doors, and a Memo indicator on the lid reminds you when to change the cartridge.
What Brita doesn't claim on brita.sg: anything about bacteria, or any NSF certification. And its FAQ notes potassium can rise slightly — if you have kidney problems, ask your doctor before drinking filtered water daily.
The cartridge is the real cost. brita.sg's FAQ gives about 4 weeks (100 L) for a MAXTRA+ cartridge; the PRO is sold as lasting up to 50% longer. Budget on the safe side — one every 4 weeks is about 13 a year:
- with an imported 5+1 pack (S$62.90 at Pupsik, about S$10.48 each): ≈S$136 a year;
- with britasg's own 3-pack on Shopee (S$67, about S$22 each): ≈S$290 a year.
Either way, you spend more on cartridges each year than on the jug.
Kiasu catches on the Shopee listing:
- Not Brita's official store. The Marella listing we found is from a third-party seller (Hygeia). The official Shopee stores Brita links to from brita.sg (britasg and Heap Seng) had no Marella listing when we checked. No warranty field on the listing.
- Price depends on the variant. S$43.37 was shown before choosing 2.4 L White or 3.5 L XL Blue — check the final price after you pick. Only 2 pieces were in stock.
- It may be cheaper elsewhere. Pupsik listed S$37.20 (Cool + 1 cartridge) and S$47.90 (XL + 1) — imported German-packaging stock.
- Match the cartridge. Some cheaper listings bundle MAXTRA+, not MAXTRA PRO. Both fit, but read the box.

Best cheap jug
BRITA Marella jug (2.4 L or 3.5 L XL) with 1 MAXTRA PRO All-in-One cartridge
S$43.37 — seen on Shopee 28 Oct 2026, check current price (shown before choosing a size). Pupsik listed S$37.20 (2.4 L + 1) / S$47.90 (XL + 1).
- Seller: Hygeia — a third-party shop; Brita's official Shopee stores had no Marella listing
- Only 2 pieces in stock when we checked; no warranty field
- Cartridge every ~4 weeks: about S$136–290 a year depending on where you buy
- No SAFETY Mark needed (no power)
Pros
- Cheapest way to fix chlorine taste
- No install — renter-proof
- 2.4 L size fits a fridge door
- Memo cartridge reminder
Cons
- Only 1.4–2.0 L filtered per fill
- Cartridges cost more per year than the jug
- No bacteria or NSF claim
- Third-party seller on Shopee
2. Philips On-tap AWP3753/97 — best tap-mounted filter
If refilling a jug sounds like work, this screws onto a normal kitchen tap. Per Philips Singapore, it uses activated carbon fibre plus a hollow-fibre membrane down to 0.1 µm, flows at 1.6 L/min, and the cartridge lasts 1,200 L. A lever switches between filtered and unfiltered water, so you're not wasting the cartridge on washing dishes. Philips claims it reduces chlorine, lead, pesticides, microplastics and "up to 99.99% of bacteria" — that last one is Philips' own lab claim, not an NSF certification.
Cost per year: the AWP315 replacement cartridge was S$44.10 on the Philips Shopee shop (S$49 at OG). 1,200 L lasts about four months if your household runs 10 L a day through it, so budget ≈S$44–147 a year (one to three cartridges — our estimate; Courts lists "1 year").
Kiasu catches:
- Will it fit your tap? It's for standard round spouts. Pull-out, square or designer taps may not fit — check the adaptors before you buy.
- Cold tap only. Philips specifies input water at 5–38°C and 0.15–0.35 MPa. Don't run hot water through it.
- Weak-flow complaints. The only review on the Philips page (from Vietnam) mentions weak flow; Courts showed 4.6★. Hollow-fibre filters are slower than an open tap.
- Shopee is cheaper here. S$53.10 on Shopee vs S$59 at Best Denki and Courts (RRP S$78).
- Warranty: two answers. The listing says 12 months (supplier); the Philips page says 2 years. Ask the seller and screenshot it.
- Ignore the "1234". The Safety Mark field on the listing shows "1234", which looks like a placeholder. An unpowered tap filter doesn't need a SAFETY Mark anyway.

Best tap-mounted filter
Philips On-tap Filtration AWP3753/97 (X-Guard Ultra)
S$53.10 — seen on Shopee 28 Oct 2026, check current price. Cheaper than Best Denki and Courts (S$59, RRP S$78).
- Seller: Philips shop on Shopee (Mall tag seen in search results)
- Warranty: listing says 12 months; Philips' own page says 2 years — confirm
- Safety Mark field shows "1234" — looks like a placeholder; not needed for an unpowered filter
- AWP315 cartridge S$44.10 on Shopee: about S$44–147 a year
Pros
- Screws onto a standard tap, no plumber
- 0.1 µm hollow-fibre membrane + carbon
- Filtered / unfiltered switch saves the cartridge
- Cheapest yearly cost if you use it lightly
Cons
- May not fit pull-out or odd-shaped taps
- Cold water only (5–38°C)
- Slower flow than an open tap
- Bacteria claim is Philips' own
3. novita W62 Plus under-sink — best plumbed-in system
For owners who want filtered water from a dedicated faucet and nothing on the counter. Per novita's estore, the W62 Plus ("The Home • Ultra") is a twin-housing, 5-stage under-sink system — as we read novita's spec table, sediment, a carbon block, a nano membrane and carbon stages — rated for 25,000 L or 24 months per filter set, with flow of up to about 6 L/min (the table layout is a bit ambiguous, so check the live page). novita is a Singapore brand with local service, and the faucet comes in three finishes.
Cost per year: the two-piece replacement pack is S$500 every 24 months — about S$250 a year. That's the lowest cost per litre of the plumbed options we looked at, but only if you actually drink a lot of water.
Kiasu catches:
- Plumbing work. It connects to your water pipe and needs a hole for the faucet (and possibly drilling a hard countertop). PUB requires water-service plumbing work to be done by a PUB Licensed Plumber. The Shopee listing says standard installation is included, booked separately with novita — ask whether their installer is licensed and what "standard" excludes.
- Renting? Get the landlord's agreement in writing first, and agree who removes it when you move out.
- No NSF claim that we could find on novita's page; the "bacteria" icon is novita's own claim.
- Same price on Shopee and novita's estore: S$789. The Shopee listing didn't show the replacement-pack price, so check it on the estore.
- Warranty: 12 months (manufacturer), per the listing. SAFETY Mark field is "-" — fine, it's unpowered.

Best under-sink system
novita 15" Undersink Filtration System W62 Plus – The Home • Ultra
S$789.00 (faucet colour variants) — seen on Shopee 28 Oct 2026, check current price. Same S$789 on novita's estore.
- Seller: novita Official Store on Shopee
- Standard installation included (separate appointment with novita), per the listing
- Warranty: 12 months (manufacturer), per the listing
- Replacement pack S$500 per 24 months / 25,000 L: about S$250 a year
Pros
- Out of sight, dedicated faucet
- 25,000 L / 24-month filter life
- Singapore brand with local service
- Installation included
Cons
- S$789 upfront plus S$500 every 2 years
- Plumbing work; landlord approval if renting
- No NSF claim found
- No hot or cold water
4. Philips ADD6910/90 RO dispenser — best hot water without a plumber
This is the renter's answer to the under-sink RO: you fill a 4 L tank by hand, so no pipes, no drilling, no landlord negotiation. Per Philips Singapore, the ADD6910 runs water through a 5-stage ADD550 filter including reverse osmosis (RO) at 0.0001 µm, then keeps the tank clean with UV-C LEDs. It heats instantly (2,200 W) to 45, 85 or 95°C or gives ambient water, in 150/210/300/500 ml presets, with a child lock on anything above 45°C. Gain City lists it at 232 × 250 × 424 mm and about 8 kg.
Philips claims 99.9% chlorine and lead reduction and 99.999% bacteria and virus reduction across 110 substances, tested by SGS/Bureau Veritas plus its own lab — again, brand claims, not NSF certification.
Cost per year: the ADD550 filter lasts up to 12 months at 6 L a day. It was S$143.10 on the Philips Shopee shop, S$159 at Best Denki (reg S$215): budget ≈S$143–215 a year, more if you drink more.

Kiasu catches:
- Shopee is dearer here. The Philips Shopee shop listed S$768. On the same day OG had it at S$599 (was S$818) and Best Denki at S$818; we also saw third-party Shopee sellers at S$649–707.70. This price swings by over S$200 — don't pay S$768 if S$599 is available.
- SAFETY Mark: this one needs it. Hot water dispensers up to 10 L are Controlled Goods. The listing shows 230876-11, the same number Gain City lists — check the mark on the unit when it arrives.
- Plug it straight into the wall. At 2,200 W, don't run it from a multi-way adaptor or extension shared with the kettle.
- RO removes minerals and makes waste water. You'll empty a waste tank; check the manual for how often.
- Tank is only 4 L, so a family refills often. Warranty on the listing: 12 months (supplier); Gain City lists 2 years — confirm. Some cheaper third-party ADD550 filters exist on Shopee; we'd stick to genuine Philips.

Best hot water, no plumber
Philips ADD6910/90 5-in-1 RO Water Dispenser, Instant Hot & Ambient (No Installation Required)
S$768.00 — seen on Shopee 28 Oct 2026, check current price. Dearer than OG (S$599 on the same day); Best Denki S$818.
- Seller: Philips shop on Shopee (same shop as the AWP3753; Mall badge not individually confirmed)
- SAFETY Mark on the listing: 230876-11 — check the mark on the unit
- Warranty: 12 months (supplier), per the listing
- ADD550 filter S$143.10 on Shopee: about S$143–215 a year
Pros
- No plumbing — fill by hand, renter-proof
- RO + UV-C tank
- Instant 45 / 85 / 95°C for kopi and formula
- Child lock above 45°C
Cons
- S$169 dearer on Shopee than at OG on the day
- 2,200 W — needs its own wall socket
- RO strips minerals and makes waste water
- Small 4 L tank
5. CUCKOO King Top 2 — best hot-and-cold purifier with servicing
For a family that wants cold, room-temperature and hot water from one machine, and wants someone else to change the filters. Per CUCKOO Singapore, the King Top 2 uses 6-stage filtration with 4 filters (sediment, pre-carbon, a "natural" filter and Nano Positive), with tanks of 1.0 L cold, 0.3 L room and 1.0 L hot. CUCKOO claims it removes germs, viruses (including norovirus), particles and heavy metals — brand claims.
Rental is gone. CUCKOO's FAQ says: "As of October 2025, we have ceased the CUCKOO True Rental Plan." It's outright purchase only. Servicing (a technician visit every 4 months, with filter changes) comes under the CUCKOO+ Care Service Package at S$330 a year on cuckoo.sg, and CUCKOO's FAQ says the warranty continues while you keep paying it. Over five years, that's roughly S$3,119–3,649 including the machine — our maths: S$1,799 or S$1,999, plus four or five years of S$330, depending on whether the first year's service comes with the purchase.
Kiasu catches:
- Shopee is cheaper here. S$1,799 on Shopee vs S$1,999 on cuckoo.sg — S$200 less.
- Model code not on the listing. CUCKOO's site calls it CP-AEN501HW; the Shopee listing only says "King Top 2". Ask the seller to confirm the model code before you pay.
- SAFETY Mark: it has a heater, so it needs one. The listing's Safety Mark field just says "CUCKOO", with no number. Check the mark on the unit and look it up at go.gov.sg/safety-mark.
- Is the service plan included? The listing mentions free installation and service every 4 months, but doesn't say for how long. Ask, in writing, how many service visits come with a Shopee purchase.
- Installation. CUCKOO's page doesn't say how it connects; the listing promises free installation. If it taps into your water line, it's plumbing work — and landlord territory if you rent.

Best hot-and-cold with servicing
CUCKOO King Top 2 Water Purifier, 6-Stage Filtration (hot / cold / room)
S$1,799.00 — seen on Shopee 28 Oct 2026, check current price. Cheaper than cuckoo.sg (S$1,999).
- Seller: CUCKOO shop on Shopee (likely official; badge not confirmed)
- Model code CP-AEN501HW is NOT shown on the listing — confirm with the seller
- Safety Mark field says "CUCKOO" with no number — check the mark on the unit
- Warranty: 12 months (manufacturer), per the listing; CUCKOO+ Care S$330 a year on cuckoo.sg
Pros
- Cold, room and hot water in one
- Technician service every 4 months (with the care package)
- Free installation per the listing
- S$200 cheaper than cuckoo.sg on the day
Cons
- S$1,799 upfront + S$330 a year
- No rental option since Oct 2025
- Model code and SAFETY Mark number not on the listing
- Brand claims only; installation details unclear
Also considered (no links)
- 3M AP Easy Complete (under-sink). The only model we looked at whose sellers claim NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 certification, and 1homeshop listed it at S$599 with installation and one cartridge (Asia Excel: S$685; cartridges about S$130 every 6 months). But we couldn't open 3M's own product page to confirm the specs, and didn't verify the certificate on NSF's listings. If NSF certification matters to you, look the model up on NSF's site yourself.
- Philips ADD6901 RO dispenser and AWP3754 tap filter. Siblings of picks #4 and #2. The ADD6901 was S$699 at OG, and uses a different, pricier filter (ADD541RO, S$208). The AWP3754 was S$59 at OG. Check the model suffix — each uses its own cartridge.
- novita W38 purifier. S$298 (from a "was S$889" that looks like a permanent promo), but its filter pack is S$380 a year — more than the machine.
- Coway rental. Coway Singapore doesn't publish prices on its site; a competitor site quotes about S$49 a month over 60 months (about S$2,940), which we couldn't confirm. If you rent anything, ask for the full-term total and early-termination fee in writing.
Which one for you?
- Renting, and just want water to taste better: Brita Marella — and buy cartridges in bulk.
- Want filtered water straight from the tap, still no plumber: Philips AWP3753 — check your tap shape first.
- Own your flat and want it hidden: novita W62 Plus — confirm the installer is a PUB Licensed Plumber.
- Hot water for kopi or baby formula, no plumbing: Philips ADD6910 — but shop around; it was S$169 cheaper at OG.
- Want cold water and someone else to service it: CUCKOO King Top 2 — budget S$330 a year on top.
- Water tastes fine already? Ah Huat's honest advice: save your money. PUB says it's fine to drink straight from the tap.
Ah Huat's Kiasu Tip: Screenshot the listing — price, variant, model code, warranty line and SAFETY Mark field — before you pay. If anything goes wrong, you got proof. Kiasu, but shiok when you need it.
The real cost: price + filters
Here's what each pick costs in its first year and over five, using the cheapest prices we saw on 28 Oct 2026 and the brands' stated filter life. Your numbers will differ if your household drinks more (or less).
| Model | Upfront (Shopee) | Filters / service per year | Rough 5-year total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brita Marella + MAXTRA PRO | S$43.37 | ≈S$136–290 | ≈S$720–1,490 |
| Philips AWP3753/97 | S$53.10 | ≈S$44–147 | ≈S$270–790 |
| novita W62 Plus | S$789 | ≈S$250 (S$500 / 2 yrs) | ≈S$1,790–2,040 |
| Philips ADD6910/90 | S$768 (S$599 at OG) | ≈S$143–215 | ≈S$1,170–1,840 |
| CUCKOO King Top 2 | S$1,799 | S$330 service plan | ≈S$3,119–3,449 |
Notice the jug: cheapest to buy, but over five years it can cost as much as an under-sink system. Kiasu maths, but true.
Before you check out: SAFETY Mark, plumbing and claims
- SAFETY Mark only for the heated ones. CPSO's List of Controlled Goods covers "liquid heating appliances, limited to kettles, air pots and hot water dispensers" up to 10 litres. So the Philips ADD6910 and CUCKOO King Top 2 need a SAFETY Mark; jugs, tap filters and unpowered under-sink units don't. Numbers on Shopee listings are what the seller typed in (Philips 230876-11, CUCKOO no number). Check the mark on the unit and look it up at go.gov.sg/safety-mark.
- Plugs and adaptors are Controlled Goods too. Plug a 2,000 W-plus dispenser straight into a wall socket, not a multi-way adaptor.
- Plumbing = PUB Licensed Plumber. Anything that connects to your water pipe (the novita, possibly the CUCKOO) is regulated plumbing work. Ask the installer for their PUB licence before they start. Renting? Landlord's OK in writing.
- "99.99% bacteria" is a brand claim. Philips cites its own and SGS/BV lab tests; CUCKOO and novita list their own claims; Brita makes no bacteria claim at all. None of our five picks claim NSF certification on the pages we read.
- Change the filter on time. PUB warns unchanged filters can breed bacteria. Set a phone reminder the day you install it.
Also check outside Shopee
Shopee isn't always the cheapest. Prices we saw on 28 Oct 2026 at the brand or Singapore retailers (no affiliate links here):
- Brita Marella: Pupsik S$37.20 (2.4 L + 1 cartridge) / S$47.90 (XL + 1). brita.sg also links Brita's official Lazada store and Tangs.
- Philips AWP3753/97: Best Denki and Courts S$59 (RRP S$78) — Shopee was cheaper.
- novita W62 Plus: estore.novita.com.sg S$789 — same price.
- Philips ADD6910/90: OG S$599 (was S$818); Best Denki S$818; Gain City S$818 (out of stock) — OG was S$169 cheaper than Shopee.
- CUCKOO King Top 2: cuckoo.sg S$1,999 — Shopee was S$200 cheaper.
FAQ
Do I need a water filter in Singapore?
Not for safety. PUB says tap water is "suitable for drinking directly from the tap without any further filtration". A filter is for taste, smell or convenience. If your water is brown, that's usually pipes or a water heater — see our brown and cloudy tap water guide.
What's the cheapest water filter to own?
To buy, a jug. To own, it depends on how much you drink: a Brita jug costs about S$136–290 a year in cartridges, while the Philips tap filter costs about S$44–147. See the real cost table.
Does a water dispenser need a SAFETY Mark?
Yes, if it heats water — hot water dispensers up to 10 litres are Controlled Goods under CPSO. Unheated jugs, tap filters and under-sink filters aren't on the list.
Can I install an under-sink filter in an HDB flat?
It's plumbing work, which PUB says must be done by a PUB Licensed Plumber. If you rent, get your landlord's written agreement first. We didn't find an HDB page specific to under-sink filters, so check with HDB if you need to drill the countertop or alter pipes.
Can I still rent a CUCKOO water purifier?
No. CUCKOO says it ceased its True Rental Plan in October 2025; it's outright purchase plus an optional care package (S$330 a year on cuckoo.sg).
Is RO water bad for you?
RO removes minerals as well as contaminants, and it produces waste water. Our how-to guide has the CDC and US EPA details. If minerals matter to you, a carbon filter may be enough.
Quick kiasu checklist
- Remember: PUB says tap water is already drinkable. Buy for taste or convenience.
- Pick the type: jug or tap filter (renters), under-sink (owners, plumber), countertop RO (hot water, no plumber), purifier with service.
- Work out one year of filters before you pay.
- Heated dispenser? Check the SAFETY Mark on the unit, and plug it into the wall.
- Plumbing? PUB Licensed Plumber, and landlord approval if renting.
- Confirm the model code and warranty with the seller, and screenshot it.
- Compare the Shopee price with OG, Best Denki, Courts and the brand's own site before you tap "Buy now".
